A couple weeks ago I noticed that my ferret was very weak in his back legs, but otherwise seemed perfectly fine. He’s around 4 years old, so I took him to the vet as soon as I noticed. His poop was normal at this point. He ended up being diagnosed with insulinoma and put on daily prednisone. At the same time, I decided to switch to a better food because I thought it could only help. Now his poop is dark and sludgey, but other than that he seems fine. I thought he would get used to the food/medicine but I guess he hasn’t. Could it be the Wysong food that’s doing this, or does it make more sense to be the medicine? Should I just move back to his old, cheap food? It’s upsetting because I really wanted to give him something better than that kind.
