As those in that area probably know there currently are multiple individuals ill with a form of shiga toxin producing bacteria in New Brunswick.

What you may not know is that ferrets also can contract this illness and for them it also is often fatal (blood diarrhea and kidney failure) and when survived leaves the ferrets with kidney damage just as often happens to people. See the separate
