Hello Everyone,
You probably don't remember me but I used to post on this board frequently about a year and a half ago.
My husband and I have four ferrets (we had two when I posted on these boards but we adopted two more from a friend who was planning on leaving her two with the SPCA).
However our circumstances have changed and we have decided it is probably time to look for new homes for our little ones. We're very torn up about this but in order for them to have the best quality of life we're looking for new parents, preferably who we can meet or who can be vouched for by one of the members of FLSAC.
Our Ferrets:
Rupert and Jacob: These boys must go together as they have always lived together. Rupert is a deaf dark eyed white ferret and other than the deafness very healthy. He's never seemed to be bothered by his deafness other than he's a bit louder when he's playing than the others and he needs to be physically woken up or else the others eat all his food . He's a medium sized boy and loves to play and chase us. He has a bit of a tendency to gain weight so he needs lots of playtime. He's about 3-4 (rescue so exact age unknown). Jacob is cream colored with darker spots. He's the sweetest ferret I've ever met and actually likes cuddles. He's never ever nipped even in play. He's about 3 years old. Both boys are marshalls ferrets and in great health.
Delilah and Cujo are both little girls and about 3-4 years old. They are both in excellent health as well. Delilah is pale cream or brown depending on the season and is a great climber. She has nipped occasionally but gives a lot of warning so it's easy to catch and correct her. Cujo is a darker brown and the best jumper/climber of the group. She's a little more timid but when she warms up she loves to play! These two little girls will have to go together as well. The only health issue here is that Deliliah get the rat tail about once per year...usually when her winter coat starts growing in.
All four ferrets are litter trained and very friendly with people. They currently have one bedroom to themselves with a 3 level ferret nation cage and a home-made wooden maze. There is also a secure outdoor enclosure where the ferrets can spend the day (plywood and metal lathe construction) along with a metal fence (it's supposed to be an outdoor play enclosure but we attach it to two walls of the room to make a living space for the ferrets. It would depend on the needs of the adopter as to who gets what with the ferrets. Ideally the girls would get the cage as they are more used to it and the boys would get the other enclosure.
If you are interested or know someone who would be a responsible ferret owner you can contact me at jen.clarke23@gmail.com
Thank you
