I know many of you already know it, but I thought I should post a reminder for all new ferret parents :
Be careful during summer time as ferrets are prone to heatstroke, they can't stand hot/warm temperature ! NEVER walk your ferrets during a hot sunny day !
We've seen 3 people walking their ferret yesterday walking around Oaks Vet while the temperature was really hot for a ferret (humans too
. The poor thing looked dead in his owner's arms. You can tell he or she was not ok. 
They were walking around the Oaks Vet so I would also like to warn people in Moncton area that Oaks Vet is not the best place to go. They don't know much about cats and dogs and don't have a clue of what a ferret is. It was the first place we went when we moved in the area and as soon we started asking them questions, we got a feeling that they were not what a pets owner is looking for. The first and last time we went there with our pets, the vet asked us if they were nice and looked pretty scared of them. He was a bit far of my animals while he was checking them. Seriously. My friends cat got sick 2 years ago and they don't asked my friend for a poop sample, they took the cat away from her eyes (in the lab) and a few minutes after gave the cat back saying she has worms. To the best of my knowledge, every vets I know ASK for a poop sample ! Their prices are insane and the service is poor. Its a pretty clinic but I do not recommand them for the sake of your pets !
My cat's vet is Dr.Paula Marie from Maritime Animal Hospital which is great with animals and not scared of them !

& My ferrets' vet is Dr.Miro Drmac from VetCare Pet Hospital which is fantastic with ferrets !
I think my experience of 2 years ago and my friend's experience was a good think to share. We always talk about where to go and which vet is good but we never talk about which vet is not the best vet and which place you should avoid.
Its not because something looks good it means its good.
Its not because the company says its safe it really is.
Its not because a vet tell you he or she can take ferrets as patients they really know about them. Its hard to find a great vet for dogs and cats so double check when it comes to ferrets...
Its same with foods, toys and so. Be careful with your pets my friends and even with yourself !
