The rain came down in torrents after weeks of blistery heat. The sky released its tears and the woman wept with the sky. The precious fur children who came in on the fierce wind – departed with the soothing rain. The Buddhists claim that when it rains during a significant event, it is an auspicious sign … Chinook suddenly opened his eyes and looked around anxiously. Then he saw her. Mariah’s black sable form was curled up snoozing softly next to him. He heaved an immense sigh of relief and gave her a gentle lick. The large black roan’s heart was at peace. Mariah stirred. She stretched so that even her whiskers and toes quivered, overwhelmed by the sheer feeling of wellness. No pain! No fatigue! She opened her eyes and looked into the loving dark eyes of her companion. The angel smiled down at her two passengers as they leisurely made their way to the Rainbow Bridge. A new adventure was about to begin… Tiramisu Rainbow Bridge Reporter

Sorry to hear about Mariah and Chinook. They came together and left together. In the interim they received love and care. RIP little ones.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Mariah and Chinook were seniors when they were surrendered and I ended up adopting them. They were very dear to me, and will be missed Both had serious illnesses and I am waiting for the necropsy results to come back. Please consider having a necropsy done on your ferrets when they pass on. This is invaluable learning for your veterinarian as well as a confirmation of the illnesses these babies get. The benefits of that knowledge will be passed on to the next ferrets your veterinarian sees for years to come. If any good can come from the horrible illnesses ferrets are prone to, it is the knowledge a necropsy can give a veterinarian. Tressie

a wise 4 year old once said "Everybody is born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody and being nice." The four-year-old continued, "Animals already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long." I think this little boy is very wise.
