Victor came to me in October of 2008. He couldn't have been more than 8 weeks old when he was surrendered. The woman had just bought him from the pet store and couldn't deal with him. I soon found out it was because Victor was very ill and she did not have the time to care for a young, sick ferret.
Victor recovered within a few weeks from his illness and quickly became a loving new member of our ferret family. He was a gentle little giant with the biggest eyes in the world, you couldn't help but to fall in love with him.
In June of this year he began sleeping a lot and had liquid green poop. ECE was suspected and treatment was given, but did not work. A few weeks had gone by and Victors condition hadn't improved at all, and all of my other ferrets were still doing fine.
We spent the following two months trying different medications and treatments and numerous tests to figure out what was wrong with him, but nothing we did worked, he kept getting worse and worse.
At the beginning of August he could nolonger walk, had lost control of his bowels and would only eat when spoon fed. We knew it was time to say goodbye to our little giant. At only a year old this little guy suffered too much. He will forever be missed.
