oops I posted this message to the incorrect board - will repost here:
Mindy alerted me that someone had posted onto Kijiji about their ferret who went missing on the June 14th.
I spoke to the young woman and it would appear that the two fuzzkids managed to open the cage door in her absence. One was found in the apartment - the other has not been found.
Unfortunately, he likely went out the window and probably fell to the ground below (a 3 storey fall). However, there is a remote possibly that he may have managed to jump into the tree and climbed down.
Not likely - but with ferrets one can never be certain of anything.
I have called Fairview and left a message with them in case someone turns in an injured ferret.

They found him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing little fuzzbutt survived a 3 storey fall, fortunately onto grass. Possibility he may have climbed down the tree.
A neighbour saw their ad, he was under their deck!!

Hi! I have joined your forum after speaking with Tressie when I lost my ferret. I had no idea that this society existed up until this point. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your phone call and all of your suggestions and also all of the effort you put in to help us find him. It is unbelievable that we did find him and that he appears to be uninjured. We are taking him to the vet tomorrow to be sure. He did not make it far (just around the corner from our house), however he was gone for 4 days! He was very thin and dirty when we found him and his coat had changed color, however it has returned to its normal shade since he has been home. He is eating lots and lots!! Thank you so much for everything. -Natalie

What a nightmare that must of been for you Natalie, So glad you found your little boy, I had a similar scare with my two girls last week, thought I would have a nervous breakdown, had everyone out in the neighborhood searching 12:00 at night, Cant imagine how scary it would of been to have him gone for 4 days, and to survive that fall..sounds like a miracle ferret to me, So glad you have him back.
