Would you re-post this to the 'Needing a Home' section? It will grab the attention of people looking for ferrets.
7 months old and already so many issues. Can you encourage the owner to at least get them to a vet for necessary treatment? They probably have ear mites and if she has diarrhea/prolapse could become seriously ill fairly quickly.

Reposted, sorry about that, They have been to the vet several times for treatment and medication. She says they would both probably need surgery and the current owners are not willing to pay for them. If the male does not get the surgery he will most likely have ear infections throughout his life, as for the female, the dr said she thinks she has an intestinal disease. As of right now you can not see the females sphincter it appears to have gone inside They are both so sweet and I wish I could help them, but I have my own two ferrets and cannot afford it.

Is this a ferret knowledgeable veternarian? The sphincter is inside or is it prolapsed? The procedure to fix a prolapse like that is fairly simple procedure, generally a purse-string suture is all that is required. There are a number of conditions she may have that caused it e.g., coccidia, giardia, proliferative colitis, ECE, etc. All are treatable! What is wrong with his ear? Does he have a growth in the ear canal or a severe ear mite infestation? These are not rare conditions in ferrets and can be treated IF the owners are administering medications as prescribed, and following doctor's orders. Is the problem that the owners can't be bothered with following the veterinarians recommendations? ' I don't understand - there seems to be more to the story than meets the eye. Tressie
