YAYYYY summer is finally here ;D
Now you have to be prepared to deal with hot weather, which can be deadly for your ferret.
Here's some links to tips:
How To Keep Your Ferret Cool Indoors

Some tips I use to help ferrets cool down in hot weather:
- mist them with water spray - they LOVE it. They'll put their faces right into the spray nozzle. You can actually soak them by misting them. I use a plant mister spray bottle I bought at the Dollar Store and it works great!
- place ceramic tiles on the floors of their cage although NOT on the half shelves of a Ferret Nation. If one of those tiles fell and hit one of your fuzzbutts could do serious damage.
- frozen water filled pop bottles wrapped in pillowcases and tied so the cold surface isn't directly on them. I attach them with bunjee cords in the corners of cages.
- fill a shallow pan of tepid water and let them splash in it.
- dip their paws in room temperature water NOT cold water.
I do these things if the portable A/C in the ferret room goes off due to power loss. Otherwise I keep the ferret room at between 60-65F (15-17C) year-round.
In super hot weather, even though I live 15 minutes drive from the vet, I reschedule vet appointments. I do not take ferrets out in hot weather.
