I'd like to share a video of Demon doing some tricks : "Stand Up", "Give paw", "Circle", "Rollover" and "Gimme Five". He was also learning a new trick : "Play Dead". Demon was not at his very best in this video. He was pretty stubborn and he was not really interested ... lol Hope you will like the video anyways .. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY-GWTM4iooHave a good day everyone and hug your pets

Thanks Mindy, Tayla and Abby ! Thanks motherof2 No it is not hard. Ferrets are very smart and learn fast. With dogs and cats it usualy takes a few days before you get the result you want to, but with ferrets .. its weird. It seems like they already know what you want them to do lol It took me a day to show Demon the "gimme five" trick, and about 3 days for the "give paw" lol Its all about psychology. As soon as you find how to play with your animal behaviours, you can make them do anything for a treat. Demon loves meat jerky, ferretone, ferretlax, chicken or lamb baby food and would do anything to get a few drops. I find it more easy to cut meat jerky into pieces; its more easy to show your ferrets what you want them to do. Johnny doesn't like treats at all, he only likes ferretlax and ferretone, so its a bit more complicated. He still can do "Stand up" and "give paw", the "rollover" is not his very best trick for now. Here's the best way to get the best results lol 1- Keep the sessions very short (about 5 to 10 minutes) or your ferret will get bored (just like Demon in the video ) 2- Don't get frustrated, of course, and don't give up. Any ferret can do this. Even my stubborn Johnny started to do a few tricks. 3- Try to find a quiet place that your ferret knows well. For example I did this video in my spare room. Its usualy a "ferret-free" room so Demon was really really curious to explore the place ! He was not interested at all about "tricks n treats" When I teach him tricks in the ferrets room, everything goes well and Demon is learning fast because he knows the room and he focus on his rewards. 4- Don't teach your ferret tricks with other pets around ; he/she will be more interested to play with the other folks in the house than doing his/her homework.. 5- Make sure your ferret knows the new trick well before teaching him/her a new one or she/he will get confused 6- Keep the lesssons short and fun ! Its a great way to spend quality time with your furkids Have fun everyone

hahahah yes, it works both ways ! Demon was a VERY intelligent ferret ! He was very good to always get what he wanted. We miss him and we love him so much My favorite hobby is to teach my pets tricks. Johnny doesn't like to take treats from your hand so it makes my job a bit harder but that's ok. He still knows the "hi5", "shake hand" and, "stand up" tricks. He's learning the rollover. I will try to do a short video of him soon. I'm still working on making a better video of my cat, who seems to be "camera shy" lol (Yes, my cat knows tricks too). My future job is to teach fancy tricks to our new furkid, Cujo BTW, Thanks for watching !
