Orijen doesn't make specifically kitten food. They make Cat and Kitten formula. It is a really good food.
I used to feed it to my ferrets when I could get it easier. Now it is not convenient to drive to Grand Falls since I go to Corner Brook much more often. I get Go! in Deer Lake.

The Orijen cat, Go! grain free cat and Evo ferret are all really good foods.
Not a problem Annik! It took us so long to get it, I'm happy we finally have it!

The Go! Natural Chicken Turkey and Duck grain free, chicken soup for the kitten lovers soul and we are gonna try the Orijen food. also a bit of the food that came with Rickey and Baby, Rickey is almost completly off eating marshalls and heartz, Baby is almost off the cat food he came with... so those 3 food i listed at the top will be their main food soon

I wouldn't feed the Chicken Soup food. The kitten food is only 34% protein. That is not high enough in my opinion. The ingredients aren't listed online but I am pretty sure that it is not grain free. The Orijen and Go! grain free foods really are the best choices. You won't believe the difference in your ferrets when you get them switched over.

Here is a ferret food comparison chart by MD Ferret Paws: www.mdferretpaws.org/care/ChartRank.pdfIt does rank Chicken Soup for Kitten Lovers Soul in the top ten. Here is another ferret food comparison chart by Ferret Universe: www.ferret-universe.com/care/resources/food_chart.pdfI think by using these charts and avoiding anything with corn in it and preferably sticking to no or low carbs - any combination of the better foods should be fine. Dry foods have to have something to bind them together or you'd get a bag of powder, and most manufacturers use some sort of carb to do this. Complex carbs like brown rice or potatoes are better than refined cereals. Ferrets are obligate carnivores, which means they are meat eaters as in what they would get from live prey. Some people think this means they should eat 100% meat exclusively, this is misleading because live prey does contain carbs as well as other nutrients. For example, a live mouse would have grain/grass etc. in its gut. Its the whole prey that is best. One day some enterprizing soul will make ferret kibble out of whole mice. Then we'll have a really good product that won't spoil like a mouse carcass would and it will be nutritionally balanced for our ferrets (& cats). Tressie
