Dr. Benoit has informed me that he has accepted a position with a veterinary clinic in Montreal. He has to be there for training in 2 weeks. His family will be moving before Christmas.
This is a terrible loss for the ferret community in Atlantic Canada!
Fairview Animal Hospital will begin advertising for someone right away but I'm not very hopeful they'll find another exotics veterinarian.
While I wish Dr. Benoit all the best, I am very concerned for the welfare of ferrets in our area. Thankfully there a few veterinarians familiar with ferrets however, there is no one with Dr. Benoit's level of experience and expertise.

Tressie, I am so sorry for hearing this news. Have you found a new vet to deal with yet? His new clinic will be lucky to have him, but such a loss for you and all the other ferret parents who deal with him.

Correction on the info. I had assumed it was a veterinary clinic, its not. He's going to be working for Novartis Animal Health, which is a pharmaceutical company. He'll be doing seminars and presentations and not seeing patients at all. Double sad And no new vet as yet Tressie
